This is how I begin every single morning:

Word of the day.

Coffee.

Usually, the word of the day annoys me because it's something the average person would know, and therefore I am learning nothing new from said calendar. 

Today's word: 

Scarify: (no it doesn't mean to scare someone - although I could easily do so by this photo alone. Yes, that is last night's makeup, and yes, those are pink and orange shorts.) 

1: to make scratches or small cuts in

2: to wound the feelings of

3: to break up and loosen the surface of (as a road)

*Chris was scarified by the experience of having his short story so harshly criticized by his professor.

(Although it'd be more fun if it read: Chris was scarified by Sammi's ghastly morning-after-the-bar appearance.)
